Report: Apple’s M2 chips may launch as soon as July 2021

Apple only just released its new iMacs featuring the acclaimed M1 ARM-based processor, but according to a report from Nikkei, the company plans to launch M2 as soon as July. Nikkei’s sources suggest M2 could launch this summer “for use in MacBooks that are scheduled to go on sale in the second half of this year.” Notably, Apple is hosting WWDC from June 7 to 11, so the timing could work out such that Apple announces the new chipset and laptops at its developer conference, with shipments beginning the month thereafter. Only the MacBook is mentioned, however — no word… This story continues at The Next Web Or just read more coverage about: Apple https://ift.tt/3aLSjIT Read full article: The Next Web

Hands-on: Ride1Up’s Roadster V2 is a $1,045 stealth ebike that weighs just 35 lbs

Electric bikes are an essential part of a greener future, but they are not without their caveats compared to good old acoustic bikes. They’re usually heavy, for one. They’re generally thief magnets because they’re so easy to spot in the wild. And they cost a ton too. I’ve tested lightweight and stealthy ebikes, and I’ve tested affordable models, but never anything that quite combines all these factors. The Ride1Up Roadster V2 does just that. The more I test ebikes, the more I realize how much it matters to me that the ride a normal bike. Not because I’m an avid cyclist — I hadn’t ridden a normal bike in years before I started testing ebikes — but because a smooth, responsive ride is just more engaging. Unfortunately, some of my favorite bikes in this regard also tend to be weaker on power delivery. I usually don’t mind a motor with less power, but sometimes I do miss the extra oomph. The Priority Current is one of the few ebikes that can deliver on both… This story continues at The Next Web https://ift.tt/3vkH567 Read full article: The Next Web

Sony’s working on an AI that can play games for you. Here’s a better idea

Sony’s AI division recently published a patent for an AI system that learns to mimic a player’s style. Give a person a video game and they’ll play it, teach an AI to play it for them and… what’s the point? Actually, there might be something to the idea. But it’s probably not what Sony intends to do. Per the patent: The method includes generating a user game play profile of the user by adjusting the default game play style based on the plurality of game plays, wherein the user game play profile incudes a user game play style customized to… This story continues at The Next Web Or just read more coverage about: Sony https://ift.tt/3gKiLGG Read full article: The Next Web
