Criticl operates as a democratic and social newsroom. Both the prevalence of certain stories and the taxonomies wherein news is discovered are generated by the Criticl community, and overseen by a network of moderators who are also elected or impeached by the same community. Contributors are directly discouraged from asking for votes, or for what is very loosely described as spamming or schilling products and brands.
